Resolution"RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, that the following qualifications shall be required of an applicant for membership of the Association pursuant to the authority granted to the Board of Trustees by virtue of Article V Section 1 of the By-Laws of the Association: Section 1.1 GENERAL INTENT: Membership in the Association shall be open to: (a) Corporations organized in the Philippines for the purpose of engaging in mineral exploration, development, utilization and/or operation of mineral lands within the Philippines.
(b) International mining and/or exploration companies licensed to do business in the Philippines.
(c) Corporations, organizations or individuals of any nationality who can qualify under the criteria set forth in Sections 1.2 and 1.3 below.
Corporations or organizations must be represented by a Nominated Voting Representative, who shall be an individual person, of legal age and of any nationality. Section 1.2 CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP: Membership in the Association shall be classified into one (1) of the following classes: (a) Regular A Membership (b) Regular B Membership (c) Associate Membership (d) Individual Membership (e) Honorary Membership
Section 1.3 QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP: Applicants for membership in the Association must be of good financial standing and reputation in the business community as adjudged by the Board of Trustees. Applicants shall submit a duly accomplished Application for Membership form together with a written undertaking declaring that: “We hereby agree that we will: - Respect the laws and customs of the Philippines;
- Conduct our activities with due respect to the social and environmental sensitivities of the host-communities and the Philippine people;
- Respect the rights and customs of indigenous people and indigenous cultural communities;
- Strive at all times to achieve a standard of environmental responsibility approaching or achieving the level of “World’s Best Practice”.
Section 1.4 ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP: An applicant for membership shall be sponsored by either two (2) Trustees or three (3) Regular (A and/or B) members of the Association. The Board of Trustees shall determine the qualifications of the applicant and, within thirty (30) days from receipt of the application the Secretary shall advise the applicant in writing of the Board of Trustee’s decision.
