The UPD Group of Companies started life in late 2001 when the current Shareholders purchased the drilling assets of Orica Explosives in the Philippines. From these humble beginnings the Group has expanded into Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, and operates in excess of 50 drilling rigs across the Asia Pacific region. Modern equipment with well trained staff has elevated the UPD Group to become the bench mark for international standard drilling operations, in terrain that is generally typified by logistical constraints, geological complexity, and topographical extremes. Working in the Island arc of PNG, Indonesia and the Philippines gives the UPD Group a unique opportunity to specialize in drilling in the porphyry copper and gold systems found in the Pacific Rim. Often working in the areas of environmental sensitivity or with conflicting social pressures UPD is skilled in respecting the views of stakeholders whilst ensuring programmes are timely and responsibly completed.
