The Rapu-Rapu Polymetalic Project in the southeastern province of Albay paid P180 million in direct and indirect taxes in the first half of the year, said Carlos Dominguez, president of Australian-owned project proponent Lafayette Philippines Inc.
Dominguez said the project generated new businesses and thousands of new jobs on Rapu Rapu Island and in Albay.
