AID agency Oxfam and locally listed OceanaGold have renewed hostilities over the $174 million Didipio gold project in the Philippines.
In a report to be released today, Oxfam claims Oceana used strongarm tactics to pressure local communities to accept the mine, now under development. Claiming five years of “investigative work” went into the report, Oxfam says Oceana “refuses to accept that many of the people of Didipio do not want a mine in their front yard”.
