BHP, NiHAO to Search for Nickel in Philippines

BHP Billiton Ltd., the world’s largest mining company, and Philippine metals explorer NiHAO Mineral Resources International Inc. signed an agreement today to look for nickel deposits in the Southeast Asian nation.
BHP will provide technical assistance to an initial exploration of NiHAO’s 7,102-hectare (17,549-acre) property in Zambales province, NiHAO Mineral President Jerry Angping said in an interview. Emma Meade, a BHP spokeswoman, confirmed the agreement by telephone from Melbourne.
