Toledo copper seen to revive CV mining

An official of the National Economic Development Authority Central Visayas (Neda-7) said the start of copper production in Toledo City in July 2008 is expected to revive the mining industry in the region.

Neda Regional Director Marlene Catalina Rodriguez said mining can help sustain the growth momentum of the economy this year along with tourism and information and communications technology.

This positive outlook came at a time when the Atlas Consolidated Mining Development Corp. (ACMDC) started its rehabilitation in the last quarter of 2007, said Toledo City Mayor Arlene Zambo.
