P700 million for LGUs from mining shares available

Davao City (20 September) — Some P700 million paid in taxes by mining corporations are available for the Local Government Units (LGU) to claim as their share of mining operations in their respective localities.
Benjamin Philip G. Romualdez, president of Chamber of Mines of the Philippines disclosed during the Mining Summit that started yesterday September 18, 2008 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City.
