RP a mining country in 2010

MANILA (PNA) — Citing the country’s vast mineral potentials, Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Lito Atienza yesterday expressed optimism on the Philippines becoming a mining country by 2010.
Atienza said investments in the mining industry amounted to 261 million US dollars, on top of the $ 1.72 billion generated from the 40 mining, processing and exploration projects in the first half of 2004.
