Group hits 25-year mining ban in Palawan

THE CHAMBER of Mines of the Philippines has denounced the 25-year moratorium on mining in Palawan, stressing that the sweeping policy was not the solution to the province’s environmental concern.
In a statement released Friday, the chamber said the diverse resources of Palawan could instead be harnessed for the benefit of its residents without endangering the ecology.
