Ex-Comelec official joins Philex board

MANILA - The board of directors of Philex Mining Corporation has elected a former official of the poll body as its new independent director.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange, the country’s oldest mining firm said that Atty. Leonardo L. Leonida is joining the Philex’s board after an election last July 20.
Leonida takes over the post after presidential adviser on peace process Jesus Dureza declined his election to the board, which was made during the mining firm’s annual stockholders meeting last June 24.
