Billiton, PNOC in oil talks

The oil and gas exploration unit of BHP Billiton, the world’s biggest mining company, has expressed interest to team up with PNOC Exploration Corp. to scout for fossil fuel in the West Balabac area off the southwesternmost tip of Palawan island.
Jacinto Paras, PNOC Exploration chairman, told reporters that BHP Billiton Petroleum Pty Ltd. was negotiating a joint venture partnership with the local company, the Australian firm’s second oil prospect in the Philippines.
