BHP Billiton joins ExxonMobil in Sulu Sea oil and gas project

GLOBAL MINING giant BHP Billiton Pty. Ltd. will exercise its option to participate in an oil and gas exploration project in southern Sulu Sea, the Department of Energy announced yesterday.
“The [Department of Energy’s] approval of this assignment will bring [BHP Billiton], the world’s largest integrated resources company, into the Philippine upstream sector, working alongside ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publicly listed international oil and gas company,” a statement from the department said.
