Sumitomo Metal Mining will start Philippines’ nickel project

Sep. 15 MetalBiz–It is reported on September 14 that Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. on Sep. 14 expressed that it will start the nickel exploiting project in Philippines, and the total investment of this project amounted to US$1.3bln, with a production estimation of 30,000 tons per year.
Sumitomo stated that Nickel Asia Corp., Philippines largest nickel supplier will join in this program, and the mine will be put into commercially production in March, 2013.
