MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has issued an environmental compliance certificate for a nickel mining project of the Norway-based Intex Resources on Mindoro Island.
The project, which covers 11,216.6 hectares, is expected to produce 100 to 120 million tons of ore over a period of 15 to 20 years. The mine’s nickel laterite deposit is believed to be one of the biggest in the world.
