THE Securities and Exchange Commission has affirmed an earlier decision of the Philippine Stock Exchange to suspend trading of Benguet Corp. shares for one month starting today.
In an en banc ruling, the SEC favored the PSE’s move to penalize Benguet for three alleged violations of disclosure rules, particularly the nondisclosure of pertinent details in its restructuring agreements/mortgage trust indenture and its receipt of notices of debt default from creditors.
