State-pension fund Government Service Insurance System now has a 5.14-percent stake in Philex Mining Corp., the biggest and most profitable mining company in the Philippines.

Philex said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that GSIS now held 251.218 million shares of Philex shares to 5.14 percent of the mining firm’s total issued and outstanding capital stock.
