MORE foreign investors are taking stock of the viability of the Philippine mining sector and are keen on exploring business opportunities here in the Philippines, a senior official of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) said.

MGB assistant director Edwin Domingo said there are signs pointing to the possible entry of investors from Asian countries in the Philippines. At least four Chinese companies and one Japanese company are currently on the lookout for “viable” mining projects in the country.
