Philex plans overseas foray, sets sights on Indonesia

PHILEX Mining Corp. plans to expand overseas, the chairman of the Philippines’ biggest mining firm said
“We are looking at purely gold and copper,” Manuel V. Pangilinan, who is also managing director of First Pacific Co. Ltd., told reporters. First Pacific owns a substantial stake in Philex. Pangilinan cited Indonesia as one of the possible expansion areas that Philex is looking at for mineral exploration.
