Tampakan project backed

The government will protect mining investments in the country, including the $5.2-billion Tampakan gold and copper project in South Cotabato, Environment Secretary Ramon Jesus Paje said Tuesday.
“It [Tampakan] is very important for us. We believe we have to protect the investment,” he told reporters in a briefing.
