$320M Vizcaya gold project to proceed in 2013

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Amid the legal battles it is facing with the provincial government, the Australian contractor of the controversial Didipio Gold-Copper Project here said its multimillion-dollar venture in the province will commence commercial production in two years’ time.

The OceanaGold Corp. (OGC), which the national government had commissioned to undertake the project under a Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement (FTAA) issued during the Ramos administration, said it is on track toward commercial operation in 2013.
