OceanaGold: Philippine construction to start mid-year

MANILA, April 11 (Reuters) - Australia’s OceanaGold Corp said on Monday it expected construction on its Didipio gold-copper project in the Philippines to start by mid-year, with commercial production expected from early 2013.
“Preparations on the Didipio site are progressing well and we are on track to commence construction activities mid-year,” OceanaGold chief executive officer Mick Wilkes said in a statement.
It also said it was reviewing the plan to identify options for plant expansion after the commencement of production
